Gold Runner Sets Sights on Golden Triangle Discovery Potential

British Columbia’s Golden Triangle has long been one of Canada’s most closely watched mineral exploration districts, a rugged northwest region known for high-grade precious metals discoveries, major porphyry systems and mines that have helped define the province’s mining history. As glaciers and snowpack continue to retreat, new ground is being exposed across this already prolific terrain, creating fresh opportunities for explorers willing to follow the geology into areas that were once hidden beneath ice. That backdrop is now drawing renewed attention to companies working along the same mineralized belts that host some of the region’s best-known gold, silver and copper deposits.

Gold Runner Exploration Inc. [GRUN-CSE, CE70-FSE] is among a small group of companies that are aiming to capitalize on glacial and snowpack abatement who has recently secured an option to acquire a 100% interest in the Golden Girl project, which covers 8,471 hectares in the Golden Triangle region and is located midway between grass roots gold-silver discoveries that are being explored by Goliath Resources Ltd.  [GOT-TSXV, GOTRF-OTCQB, B41F-FSE] and Juggernaut Exploration Ltd. [JUGR-TSXV, JUGRF-OTCQB, 4JE-FSE], both taking advantage of glacial abatement.

Gold Runner is taking a similar approach at the Golden Girl property, which has been optioned from the B-All Syndicate, the same group that prospected and staked Juggernaut’s Big One property and Goliath’s Surebet discovery at its Golddigger property.

Surebet is a huge discovery that has generated a lot of market attention, driving Goliath’s share price over $3.40 last year. It still has a market cap of over $300 million. Big One is located to the northwest of Golddigger.

All three are situated in a region that is well known for hosting world class precious metal and porphyry deposits, including Newmont Corp.’s [NGT-TSX, NEM-NYSE, ASX, PNGX] nearby Galore Creek project, which is estimated to host 12.2 million ounces of copper, 9.4 million ounces of gold and 174.08 ounces of silver.

The trio of properties are thought to be part of the same forces that gave rise to large gold deposits at Seabridge Gold Inc.’s [SEA-TSX, SA-NYSE] KSM project and Newmont’s Brucejack mine.

Building on early exploration work conducted by B-All Syndicate, Gold Runner is hoping to outline a significant discovery on the Golden Girl property, which is only 17 kilometres from the former Snip Mine. The Eskay Creek mine, which lies approximately 60 kilometres east of Golden Girl, produced 3.3 million ounces of gold and 160,000 ounces of silver between 1994 and 2008

High-grade mineralization at Golden Girl occurs in structurally controlled shear zones within sulphide-rich veins, stockwork and breccias, similar to the nearby Snip mine, which produced approximately 1.0 million ounces of gold, 390,000 ounces of silver and 249,276 kilograms of copper (at an average 27.5 g/t gold over eight years).

Exploration conducted by the B-All Syndicate on the property identified a large new gold-silver system measuring 12 kilometres by 7.0 kilometres. The system features a gold-rich core surrounded by a silver-rich halo. Highlights from the 2024 exploration program include grab samples assaying up to 11.28 g/t gold, 3,262 g/t silver, 5.37% copper, 20% lead and 14.15% zinc, with channel samples assaying up to 3.74 g/t gold, 2,105.45 g/t silver, 0.88% copper and 5.48% lead and 7.42% zinc. The company said 47 samples collected on the property returned values exceeding 1.0 g/t AuEq.

As they gear up for this year’s exploration effort, Gold Runner officials see many reasons for optimism. They include the fact that more than 95% of the Golden Girl property remains unexplored. Also, rapid glacial retreat and snowpack loss over the last 35 years has revealed vast areas of new outcrop that have never seen surface exploration. The property is strategically located near regional infrastructure with year-round helicopter access from Forrest Kerr Camp, located 39 kilometres to the east.

In an interview with Resource World Magazine, Gold Runner CEO Chris Wensley said the company has raised $8.47 million since the end of November, 2025. Wensley has spent over 40 years in business and management including a spell as CEO, President and Chairman of Petro Horizon Energy Corp.

In a press release on April 1, 2026, Gold Runner said it had closed an institutionally supported, non-brokered private placement that raised $3.1 million.

The private placement consisted of 153,931 Critical Minerals Exploration Tax Credit flow-through units priced at $1.45 per unit and 1.98 million charity flow-through units, also priced at $1.45 each. Each unit consists of one common share and one common share purchase warrant, with each warrant entitling the holder to acquire one common share at a price of $1.50 for 36 months from the date of issuance.

On May 21, 2026, the shares were trading at 76 cents in a 52-week range of $1.80 and $0.15, leaving the company with a market cap of $13.7 million based on 18 million shares outstanding.

Wensley said the 2026 Golden Girl exploration program is fully funded and is set to kick off during an exploration window that begins in early June and extends to the end of September. Mobilization is confirmed for July 12, 2026, with boots on the ground exploration activities commencing in earnest on July 13, 2026. “Moreover, under the terms of the Golden Girl option agreement, we are now sufficiently funded to meet our expenditure obligations through October 1, 2029,” Wensley said.

Under that agreement, the B-All Syndicate received 1.83 million Gold Runner shares priced at $1.13 per share, plus 1.83 million share purchase warrants that are exercisable for five years from the date of issuance at $1.14 per share, a move that has made the syndicate a cornerstone shareholder with a 10% stake.

This summer’s exploration program consists of helicopter supported field work that will run from July 12, 2026 to August 31, 2026.  “That includes additional prospecting, sampling and mapping in areas surrounding the known mineralized showings, as well as detailed work augmented by geophysical survey in areas around the known drill-ready targets in preparation for the inaugural drill program,” said Wensley.

The company will use photon assaying, a non-destructive method for analyzing precious metals and hopes to release results from this work likely between September and November this year. Having applied for the necessary permits, the company wants to position itself to launch a maiden drill program in the summer of 2027.

Simultaneously, the company is working on its Nevada properties, which includes launching a maiden drill program at the Rock Creek project to demonstrate and prove up epithermal, high-grade gold and silver deposition as well as underlying potential for Carlin-style deposits. Rock Creek and the nearby Dry Creek and Falcon projects sit in a highly productive Nevada gold district, surrounded on three sides by major deposits. The Midas mine, located 35 kilometres to the southwest, has produced over 2.2 million ounces of gold and 26.9 million ounces of silver. To the south, Goldstrike, the Barrick-Newmont operation located approximately 35 to 40 kilometres from Falcon/Rock Creek, has produced 47 million ounces of gold from a Carlin deposit since 1986. Jerritt Canyon, located 30 kilometres to the east, has produced over 9 million ounces of gold from a Carlin-type deposit.

Together, the Golden Girl and Nevada programs give Gold Runner two separate exploration fronts as it works to advance high-grade precious metals targets in established mining jurisdictions.
