Banyan intersects more high-grade gold at Yukon project
Banyan Gold Co. (BYN-TSXV) said it has intersected additional high-grade gold mineralization in the Powerline Deposit southwest of the main high-grade core at its AurMac Project, Yukon, Canada.
“Banyan Gold continues to intersect high-grade mineralization as we drill the Powerline Deposit, where our objectives are to convert inferred mineral resources to indicated and to drill beneath the conceptual pit to increase the quantity of inferred resources at depth,’’ said \Banyan Gold President and CEO Tara Christie.
“Multiple high-grade intervals, like those intersected in AX-26-865, indicated the potential to upgrade mineralized domains both laterally and within section as we continue infilling Powerline,’’ she said. “Additionally, there is strong potential for discovering new continuous, high-grade zones, including Powerline Southwest, which continues to demonstrate the potential to intersect new skarn horizons associated with sheeted veins and high-grade gold mineralization. Our drill program is ahead of schedule with over 33,000 metres completed out of our 70,000-metre program.”
Drilling highlights include AX-26-865 which returned 1.55 g/t gold over 5.4 metres and 2.08 g/t gold over 4.1 metres within 0.86 g/t gold over 31.4 metres, 1.15 g/t gold over 12.6 metres and 1.24 g/t gold over 11.6 metres all within 0.55 g/t gold over 151.3 metres
Banyan Gold shares were active on the news, easing 3.8% or $0.055 to $1.38. The shares trade in a 52-week range of $1.44 and $1.36 cents.
The AurMac Project is Banyan’s primary asset. The current mineral resource estimate for the AurMac Project has an effective date of June 28, 2025, and consists of an indicated resource of 2.27 million ounces of gold, including 1.66 million ounces in the Powerline Deposit and 611,000 ounces in the Airstrip Deposit.
On top of that is an inferred resource of 5.45 million ounces including 5.2 million ounces at Powerline and 245,000 ounces at Airstrip.
The AurMac gold project is located in the Mayo Mining district, 356 kilometres north of Whitehorse. It lies adjacent to Hecla Mining’s [HL-NYSE] high grade Keno Hill Silver mine. Banyan recently said it had closed the 100% earn-in agreement on AurMac with PricewaterhouseCoopers Inc., the receiver and manager for Victoria Gold Corp. Banyan has now earned the remaining interests (additional 25%) in the McQuestern and Aurex properties (which together comprise the core of the AurMac project).
In a press release on October 16, 2025, Banyan Gold announced the closing of a $31.4 million private placement with strategic investor Alpayana S.A.C. Alpayana is a family-owned private mining group with more than 39 years of continuous operations in Peru and Mexico. It operates six mining units in the Peruvian Andes and Bolivar, Mexico.
