Thunder Gold drills 409 metres of grade 0.307 g/t gold at Ontario project
Thunder Gold Corp. [TGOL-TSXV, TGOLF-OTCQB-Z25-FRA] has announced diamond drill results from the Bench Target at the company’s flagship Tower Mountain property near Thunder Bay, Ont.
Highlights include TM26-214, intersected semi-continuous mineralization from surface to the end of the hole, including 110 metres averaging 0.514 g/t gold. Hole TM26-212 intersected semi-continuous mineralization from 426 metres to the end of the hole, terminating in 84.0 metres averaging 0.442 g/t gold.
The company said results indicate good to very good spatial correlation to the geological model and suggest that actual drilled grades exceed predicted model grades.
Thunder Gold shares were unchanged at $1.24 and trade in a 52-week range of $1.55 and 36 cents.
‘In a press release on January 26, 2026, Thunder Gold announced the results of a mineral resource estimate (MRE) for its 100%-owned, 2,500-hectare Tower Mountain Gold property which is located 40 kilometres west of Thunder Bay, Ont.
The company said the property contains an indicated resource of 34.5 million tonnes averaging 0.46 g/t gold (514,000 ounces of gold). On top of that is an inferred resource of 211.1 million tonnes averaging 0.45 g/t gold (3.05 million ounces of gold). The company said 100% of the estimated resources are contained within an optimized open pit.
At that time, the company said its objective was to deliver an updated resource estimate and an initial scoping study (preliminary economic assessment) in 2027, creating a clear pathway toward accelerated project development while leveraging the property’s proximity to established public infrastructure.
The company said the three holes summarized in the latest press release, were drilled from west to east, within the 2026 mineral resource estimate optimized pit limit.
“TM26-212 and 214 (and TM26-210 previously reported) are initial holes purposed towards resource conversion at the Bent Target,’’ said Thunder Gold President and CEO Wes Hanson. “Both holes confirm the predictive accuracy of the current MRE model, both spatially as well as empirically,’’ he said. “Mineralized contacts were intersected within 25 metres of where predicted and gold grades to date suggest actual gold grades returned by the diamond drilling are, collectively, 10% higher than model predicted grade.”
Hanson went on to say that TM26-212 and 214 increase the drill density within a larger area of inferred resource and both holes demonstrate increased gold grade with depth. “Our focus for the next three months remains on resource conversion drilling in advance of the MRE update by year-end. The Tower Mountain property is located beside the Trans-Canada highway. Gold mineralization occurs in variably brecciated and altered rocks surrounding the calc-alkalic Tower Mountain Intrusive Complex.
