Thunder Gold drills 298 metres of 0.409 g/t gold at Ontario project
Thunder Gold Corp. [TGOL-TSXV, TGOLF-OTCQB-Z25-FRA] has announced additional drilling from the Bench Target at the company’s flagship Tower Mountain property, 40 kilometres west of Thunder Bay, Ont.
The company said drill hole TM26-218 intersected continuous mineralization over 298.5 metres averaging 0.409 g/t gold and terminated in 36.0 metres averaging 0.715 g/t gold.
“All seven infill holes completed to date have targeted inferred resource blocks within the 2026 mineral resource estimate with the objective of converting inferred resources to the indicated resource classification,’’ said Wes Hanson, President and CEO of Thunder Gold. “Actual grades are trending higher than modeled grades, supporting the opportunity to increase the average grade of the resource through continued drilling,’’ he said. “We also believe the additional drilling will define continuity of both higher-grade shoots and barren, late intrusive dikes within the B-E trend that are currently poorly understood due to lack of drill density.’’
Hanson went on to say that TM26-218 is the seventh consecutive infill hole to intersect, homogenous, continuous mineralization from the contact of the B-E trend to the end of the hole. “As with all our drilling to date, grades are very consistent, varying from 0.10 to 3.00 g/t gold withing the B-E target and rarely exceeding 5.0 g/t gold,’’ he said.
Thunder Gold shares on Monday eased 3.03% or $0.005 to 16 cents. The shares trade in a were unchanged at $1.24 and trade in a 52-week range of 22 cents and 36 $0.05
‘In a press release on January 26, 2026, Thunder Gold announced the results of a mineral resource estimate (MRE) for its 100%-owned, 2,500-hectare Tower Mountain Gold property which is located 40 kilometres west of Thunder Bay.
The company said the property contains an indicated resource of 34.5 million tonnes averaging 0.46 g/t gold (514,000 ounces of gold). On top of that is an inferred resource of 211.1 million tonnes averaging 0.45 g/t gold (3.05 million ounces of gold). The company said 100% of the estimated resources are contained within an optimized open pit.
At that time, the company said its objective was to deliver an updated resource estimate and an initial scoping study (preliminary economic assessment) in 2027, creating a clear pathway toward accelerated project development while leveraging the property’s proximity to established public infrastructure.
TM26-218 was drilled from east to west across the main Bench 3738-Ellen (B-E) trend. It targeted the main B-E target midway between TM26-2010 (661.5 metres averaging 0.554 g/t gold) and TM26-214 (409.5 metres averaging 0.307 g/t gold). Collectively these three holes represent 100 metre step out holes across the middle portion of the B-E target. TM26-215 was an exploration hole targeting waste rock southwest of the B-E contact. It intersected 7.5 metres averaging 0.737 g/t gold near the end of the hole.
