New Grit Metals CEO to focus on lithium exploration strategy
Grit Metals Corp. [FIN-TSXV, EUEMF-OTCQB, K9T:FSE] has announced the appointment of Jake Clark as the company’s new CEO and director, effective immediately. He replaces Jeremy Poirier who is transitioning to the role of Chairman.
Clark, who has been serving as Vice-President, Exploration at Grit, has played a central role in the technical advancement and strategic review of the company’s exploration profile. He is expected to lead the company through its next phase of exploration-focused technical and corporate development.
Grit shares were unchanged at 10.5 cents on Wednesday and trade in a 52-week range of 22 cents and $0.07.
Grit Metals is a junior exploration company with a focus on lithium-cesium-tantalum pegmatites in central Finland. The company is exploring within one kilometre of Keliber’s integrated lithium mine and production complex, a project developed by Sibayne-Stillwater Ltd in partnership with Finnish Minerals Group. Keliber represents approximately 783 million Euros of capital invested to complete construction, with a further 200 million Euro shareholder financial package agreed to support staged ramp-up. The Keliber project, which is currently in commissioning, consists of underground and open pit mining areas, a spodumene concentrator and lithium refinery, forming an integrated hard-rock lithium supply chain in the region. It was designated as a ‘Strategic project’ by the European commission, confirming its strategic significance to Europe.
Back in March, 2026, Grit released an update on its 100%-owned Central Finland Lithium Project saying it had launched a 2,500-metre diamond drilling program aimed at confirming surface anomalism with hard-rock lithium pegmatite intersections. It planned to drill 25 holes across two permits known as Nabba and Jylha and would target lithium-cesium-tantalum-type pegmatites at the Kyrola and Morkyla exploration targets. Morkyla is situated 1.5 kilometres southeast of Keliber’s Leviakangas deposit.
More recently, in a July 28, 2026 news release, Grit said exploration has identified new spodumene boulder targets and confirmed the existence of a highly fractionated pegmatite system through recent drilling. It said combined surface and drill results have materially advanced the company’s exploration model and provide new geological and geochemical vectors for the next phase of targeting. Multiple assays returned over 0.5% Li20 in addition to high-grade samples of 2.0% and 2.4% Li20. “Of particular interest is a developing cluster of high-grade anomalous lithium-bearing boulders east of the Morkyla area, further expanding the known distribution of spodumene mineralizations at Jylha and providing a new priority area for follow-up exploration,” the company said.
An additional anomalous cluster in the central part of the permit was also discovered, reinforcing the effectiveness of the company’s systematic boulder prospecting strategy and ability to generate new targets across the broader permit package. The company has incorporated these results into a proprietary geochemical targeting model used to vector towards potentially more evolved portions of the pegmatite system,
