San Lorenzo Gold unveils leadership shuffle, exploration update
San Lorenzo Gold Corp. [SLG-TSXV] has announced the appointment of Brandon Gaspar as CEO and Director, effective September 1, 2026, as the company enters its next phase of district-scale exploration at its flagship Salvadora property located in Chile’s mega-porphyry belt.
The property is situated just 15 kilometres from Codelco’s El Salvador copper-gold porphyry mine and 30 kilometres from the Potrerillos copper smelter.
Gaspar is a professional Geoscientist with over 15 years of mining industry experience spanning mine operations, mineral exploration, corporate strategy and capital markets. Most recently, he served as Head of Research, North America at SCP Resource Finance (formerly Sprott Capital Partners), a leading specialist mining investment bank. He previously held equity research positions with BMO Capital Markets and spent nearly a decade with Goldcorp Inc. at Red Lake Gold Mines (northern Ontario), holding progressively senior operational and technical roles.
San Lorenzo Co-founder Al Kroontje will transition from CEO to Executive Chair, maintaining strategic oversight and leadership continuity.
In an exploration update, the company said a substantial IP program is underway across the Arco de Oro and Cerro Blanco targets at the Salvadora property. To date, the company said the IP has proven effective in identifying priority drill targets at Salvadora, including at San Juan, where previous drilling intersected porphyry-style mineralization within the line D8 anomaly.
On Tuesday, San Lorenzo shares eased 1.9% or $0.09 to $4.66. The shares trade in a 52-week range of $5.97 and 21.5 cents.
With approximately $23 million in cash, the company is launching a fully-permitted drill program at Cerro Blanco. With a second rig planned for Arco de Oro and expanded geophysical and geochemical programs underway across Salvadora, the company said it is positioned to materially accelerate exploration across the district.
Results obtained from prior phases of drilling – conducted on four different targets – have convinced management that several significant gold and copper enriched epithermal and/or porphyry-style systems are contained within the Salvadora property.
San Lorenzo is targeting gold, copper, and cobalt in a porphyry epithermal vein system on a project which covers 9,062 hectares and includes five distinct target zones. Key drilled target zones on the property include Cerro Blanco, Arco de Oro, Tres Amigos, and Caballo Muerto. Mineralized zones have been confirmed by historic mining, artisanal workings and modern exploration. The company has said the artisanal mining across Salvadora provides strong evidence of sustained high-grade mineralization.
In a press release on March 2, 2026, the company announced assay results from ongoing drilling at the Arco de Oro target, including partial results from SAL 09-25, the first hole drilled in the current program. Results from surface to 223.0 metres include 9.0 metres of 1.07 g/t gold, 1.0 g/t silver and 0.10% copper. The company said it has not yet received assay results from the upper (surface to 223.0 metres) portion of the hole and are expected within the next two weeks.
