Taseko Mines Ltd. [TKO-TSE, TGB-NYSE] is planning to change its name to Trekor Metals Ltd. and will seek shareholder approval for the move at the company’s next annual meeting in Vancouver on June 24, 2026.

The proposed name change is designed to reflect Taseko’s growing business and expanded asset base in North America. Management believes that it is the right time for a new name that reflects the company today and where it is headed.

“Over the last two decades, Taseko has been on a journey -steadily growing our business and unlocking value in our high-quality portfolio of development assets,’’ said Taseko President and CEO Stuart McDonald. “We’ve seized opportunities that others have overlooked and built value for shareholders and the communities where we operate,’’ he said. “Our journey will continue as Trekor, a name that embodies our values and reflects our ambition to continue to grow North America’s copper sector.’’

Taseko shares rose 2.6% or 24 cents Monday on $9.34. The shares are trading in a 52-week range of $12.47 and $2.80.

Taseko is a Vancouver-based company with a portfolio that includes the Gibraltar mine in British Columbia, the Florence Copper Project, and the New Prosperity copper-gold project, which is located near Williams Lake, B.C.

Back in March, 2023, the company completed the acquisition of an additional 12.5% interest in the Gibraltar mine from Sojitz Corp. and now holds an effective 87.5% stake in the mine.

Florence Copper is an in-situ copper recovery project located midway between Pheonix and Tucson, near the community of Florence, Arizona. Development is being performed in two phases, including a phase one production test facility and a second phase commercial facility.

The SX/EW plant commenced operations in February, 2026, and first copper cathodes were harvested at the end of February. A total of 1.5 million pounds of copper cathode was produced in the first quarter of 2026. Five drill rigs are now operating on site and increased production from newly acidified wells is expected later in the second quarter.

Meanwhile, the Gibraltar mine produced 30 million pounds of copper and 717,000 pounds of molybdenum in the first quarter of 2026, at a total cost of US$2.63 per pound of copper produced. The strong production levels from the second half of 2025 continued in the first quarter and copper grades of 0.25% were in line with the life of mine average.
