Nevada Organic Phosphate drilling strengthens Murdock Mountain potential
Nevada Organic Phosphate Inc. [NOP-CSE] continues to expand the geological potential of its 100%-owned Murdock Mountain phosphate project in northeastern Nevada, with recent drilling extending the interpreted phosphate-bearing trend beyond 4.5 kilometres and identifying a shallower target horizon that could improve future mining economics.
In a November 3, 2026 research report, Red Cloud Securities highlighted results from drill hole MM26-13, which intersected 33.7 metres of the Meade Peak geological unit beginning approximately 35 metres below surface. The result marks the eighth consecutive drill hole to intersect the target formation and provides further evidence of geological continuity. Importantly, the shallower occurrence could favourably influence future open-pit design and reduce waste-rock removal requirements.
Previous drilling has returned phosphate grades generally ranging between 10% and 12% P₂O₅, while preliminary testing has indicated relatively low heavy-metal concentrations, an important consideration for the company’s objective of producing rock phosphate suitable for organic agricultural applications. However, the principal phosphate-bearing zone has typically been considerably narrower than the broader Meade Peak formation, and assay results from four recent holes remain outstanding.
Red Cloud characterized the latest developments as neutral to slightly positive, noting that confirmation of grades, mineralized thicknesses and low heavy-metal content will be essential before the project can advance toward an initial resource estimate.
With additional drilling planned along its permitted 6.6-kilometre trend, Nevada Organic Phosphate is working to establish the scale of a potential domestic phosphate resource. The next assay results will help determine whether the project’s growing geological footprint can translate into a commercially attractive mineral deposit.
