Robex eyes first gold pour as PDI takeover deal is revised
Robex Resources Inc. [RBX-TSXV, RSRBF-OTC] said the first ore has been delivered to the mill at its Kiniero Gold Project in Guinea, West Africa, ahead of the first gold production, which is on track for this month, the company said in a press release.
Commissioning at Kiniero’s processing plant is continuing with mechanical, electrical, and instrumentation systems performing to expectations, the company said. Ramp up to commercial production is expected in the first quarter of 2026.
Robex made headlines on October 5, 2025, when it announced a definitive deal to be acquired by Australia’s Predictive Discovery Ltd. [PDI-ASX]. However, under an amended agreement announced on December 11, 2025, Predictive and Robex have agreed to revise the terms of the deal. Robex shareholders will receive 7.862 Predictive shares for each Robex share, resulting in Robex shareholders owning 46.5% of the combined company.
The deadline for Robex shareholders to vote their shares by depositing proxies is revised to 5:00 p.m. (Eastern Time) on December 29, 2025.
On Friday, Robex shares rose 3.4% or 15 cents to $4.55. The shares trade in a 52-week range of $4.98 and $2.12.
The aim of this transaction is to create West Africa’s next mid-tier gold producer by combining two of the continent’s largest, lowest cost, and most advanced projects, with combined production exceeding 400,000 ounces annually by 2029. Combined mineral resources will amount to 9.5 million ounces, including ore reserves of approximately 4.5 million ounces with significant exploration upside potential.
Following completion of the transaction, the combined company will remain listed on the Australian Securities Exchange and will apply to list PDI’s ordinary shares on the TSX Venture Exchange. Matthew Wilcox, currently CEO and Managing Director of Robex, will take on the same role at the combined company.
Robex is a Quebec-based gold mining company. It’s material properties consist of the Nampala Project in Mali and the Kiniero Project. Kiniero is expected to produce 139,000 of gold annually over nine years. Nampala is forecast to produce 46,000 to 47,000 ounces in 2025.
“With the delivery of the first ore to the Kiniero plant, we continue our commissioning activities while moving a step closer to first gold pour for the project, which we expect to pour this month,’’ said Wilcox.
PDI is an emerging mineral development company and listed on the Australian Securities Exchange. Predictive’s key asset is the Bankan gold project, a predevelopment project located in Guinea, West Africa. The Bankan gold project has a reported probable ore reserve of 57.7 million tonnes at 1.64 g/t gold, containing 3.05 million ounces of gold. PDI has said Bankan is capable of producing 250,000 ounces annually over a 12-year lifespan and is advancing towards a final investment decision targeted for the second quarter of 2026
The companies said development funding for PDI’s Bankan project will be significantly de-risked by leveraging cash flows from Robex’s Kiniero project, and the ongoing exercise of Robex’s in-the-money warrants and options.
